How to Use SEO to Increase Traffic

Without traffic, your online presence is meaningless. A landing page that no lands on will result in zero sales. A website that doesn't get any visitors won't help to tell the story of your brand. However, using white hat SEO tactics can help your website or landing pages get the targeted traffic it needs without paying a lot for it.

The first step is to look for keywords that you can rank well for. Whether you use them in an article that you share with others, as the name of your social media handle or in an online ad, you need to use keywords that people are searching for.

A good way to determine if a keyword is worth using is to look at the cost per click on an ad using that word. You can also look at monthly search volume as well as whether or not you see that keyword used in online conversations.

Once you have your keywords, you can start to focus on making the site experience great for those who get to your site. If your site doesn't cater to mobile users or load fast enough, those who see it aren't going to want to come back. That could result in a higher bounce rate and fewer return visitors.
